Can garageband be downloaded on a pc free. Apr 11, 2017 Won't let me click the record button? Its the right length when I editing it, but when I put it into a project it wont let me go over 5 minutes. Will the StudioLive AR8 USB (with Class A preamp on each channel) let me record a mic without using a TubePre? I'm getting crackling in my output, Studio One 4 won't let me change buffer size; Where. I was planning to record the rest of a song today. Unfortunately, instead I'm freaking out because this thing needs to be done in two days, and Studio One won't record.
I tried to play what I have so far, and it won't play. The 'line' does not move, nothing happens when I press the button. If I try to record, the same thing happens - line won't move, nothing records.
This was working fine a couple days ago. Did I accidentally click something? How do I get this thing to play and record? Help!

Go into audio setup, and make sure you have a soundcard selected.

I experienced this once as well. It was apparently caused by my audio interface.
After 'resetting the driver' of the interface, Studio One was able to play back my song again.
So that might be something to try. (I have an tc Impact Twin and I switched the safety mode in its settings).
It's also a good idea to tell the people here a bit more about your setup so it's easier to help: Operation System, Studio One version, Audio Interface and so on.

Check that the buffer on your Audio interface and S1 are the same, with a HD Native system if they are different it will do exactly as you describe.

Thanks for the replies! I did figure out what the problem was awhile after posting - apparently, it doesn't like when I switch USB ports. The audiobox only likes to use one in particular. So once I made the switch, it seemed to work fine, and I got my recording done. Now I feel stupid, but relieved!

If it's an audiobox USB, that's exactly why. You have to use the port it was installed on.
